Late Night Post

Sorry this is so late.  I did not get off of work till about 20 after 10, but anyway I finally have a finished piece for you guys.  So exciting!!!  Got my Elf done while at work today.  So that is a plus.  Hope to have more finished pieces up soon!! 

So I did this drawing on a small postcard.  All done in water color pencil.  It took about 3 hours to do.  It was a lot of fun and something simple I could do at work.

If you have any question on how I did something please feel free to ask. 
Other than that not much to report in the art world.  I might share some pictures of my cat on Wednesday though.  I really hope to give him a place where he can just have his own space and doesn't have to be bothered by our new kitten.  You might see him pop up in some pieces down the road too!!!!

Dragon Fail?

It's Saturday so that means another update!!!   So I was unable to finish my dragon, but I am super close.  Just have some shading to do on the fur on the back, and the face.  I did however start coloring my elf at work today as I am know back to 8 and 7 hour days.  which sucks for my artwork but yay for an actual somewhat livable pay check.

Well here she is.  I Started coloring while on lunch today and hope to get some more done on lunch tomorrow.  Once she is finished I will start working on the next one in the series. 
As I mentioned earlier the face was started and also the fur or hair on the back is pretty much done.  Here are the updates

So I really really wanted to have this done today but no such luck.  Also I will be having company over on Wednesday so I may or may not have an update for you all.  
On another note I ordered my new woodburner Thursday and hopefully it should be shipping soon.  I am so excited to be woodburning again.

Motivation and Inspiration

Well, I'm back again after 2 days of working on nothing but artwork.    I have some side projects started and almost finished with this skateboard.  I really am motivated to get it done, as soon as possible.  Why you ask, the money I make from this will help pay off my first college loan!!!  One down and five more to go.....  
So the dragon skateboard will be the big project for the next post as well.  Once that is done I have some cool commissions I will be working on and some personal projects like the elf and Ike.  Here is the update on the dragon skateboard.

Now as I have been working on this skateboard board I have been listening to a lot of music and my sister came across yet another Korean Boy Band by the name of Infinte.  Their song The Chaser has also been a big motivation, why cause I want to draw one of the boys in the band so badly.

The Handsome gentleman who parts the sea is the one I speak of.  Sung-yeol is his name!!!

My inspiration for this dragon has been from my favorite and and first anime series/ova Record of Lodoss War.  Shooting Star was the name of the dragon.  So cool if you like anime I highly recommend it.

This post will be kinda big as I have been very busy working on a commission, the portrait of Ike from Spyair, Christmas gifts for friends and family, and some ideas for my future etsy store.  So first of here is the progress I have made on Ike

I have almost of his hair finished, just need to add the highlights and started working on the jacket and finishing up the shading on his face.

Next is the commission I am working on, which is a drawing on a skateboard, of a Chinese dragon.  I am doing this whole piece in water color pencil.  The main color is a orange red while the underside will be a yellow ochre color.  Here are some work in progress pictures

I feel I have come a long way in just a couple of days.  

Since Christmas is on it's way... I have decided to start making my christmas gifts early this year.  Currently I am making this shirt for my sister who absolutely adores Henry from Super Junior M and who recently debuted as a solo artist.  Here is what the shirt looks like so far.  I did all of this with a stencil and some silver fabric paint.

Well I got called into work earlier today so I will have work in progress pictures up later this evening.  Also I have decided to update three times a week.  Once on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, since this is my busy season.  After the holidays I will probably only update once, or twice a week.  So expect so pics later tonight!!!
 

So here is another piece I am working on.  It is an elf with the power to control wind.  I have to put her ear in yet but other than that all of the drawing is done and I will start painting her sometime this week.  Also will have some pictures of a few craft projects I am working up by Monday!!!   Super excited to share my up coming projects with you all!

Artwork and work in progress

Hello everyone, I am Mizumi and this blog will be all about my artwork and things I want to share with you.  I will do my best to update at least once a week with my work in progress pictures and final projects as I get to them.  
My main focus as of right now is anime and portraits, and hopefully by the end of the month or beginning of next, woodburning will be another option again!!  However if you guys are interested in seeing something else other than those things please me know, I am always willing to learn new forms of art.

So for my first piece of art here is a work in progress of Ike from the band Spyair!!!!  This is all done in graphite!!    Just so you all know I do use reference pictures the net.
